Company Profile and History
We are a family owned company founded in 1987 by Robert L. Gerosa. R.L. started working in the family business's; Gerosa Crane Company and Gerosa Inc. as a teenager. The Gerosa family business history began in 1917 by R.L.'s grandfather, Frank along with his brothers in the Bronx, NY, providing rigging and transportation services. The Gerosa's would eventually grow into one of the most significant Crane, Heavy Hauling and Rigging companies in United States history. The Gerosa Company's filtered down into the management team of Frank, his sons Frank P. and A.L., and the young highly respected R.L. Gerosa.
In 1987 R.L. made a well thought out calculated decision and began his own business; Robert L. Gerosa, Inc. By using his Rigging and Crane expertise, garnered through years of experience and hard work he has been able to forge his own successful history, performing rigging services ranging from 450 ton transformer installations, to antenna mounting and removal on the Empire State Building to the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center, just to name a few projects.
R.L. acquired ALF Rental Company, Inc. (from Frank P. and A.L. Gerosa) in 1993, which continues to thrive today, specializing in the rentals of Steel Road Plates, Hardwood Crane Mats, Traffic Barricades and Traffic Message Boards.
Today the Gerosa family business history is in it's fourth generation with Robert L. Gerosa, Jr. and Michael J. Gerosa joining R.L. in the rigging business of Robert L. Gerosa, Inc. (all three are Licensed New York City Master Riggers) and the rental business of ALF Rental Company, Inc.
We also specialize in providing equipment Storage and Warehousing with our yard and warehousing facilities conveniently located in Englewood, NJ only 3 miles from the George Washington Bridge and just minutes from midtown Manhattan and all major Norh East arteries.
